Q - What will my contribution be used for?

A - Our Mission Statement is; “The Encinitas Senior Foundation is solely dedicated to financially assist in the social enrichment of the senior’s participating in activities at the Senior Center”

 

 

Q - Why is there a need for the foundation to subsidize the Senior Center?

A - The city is responsible for staffing and maintaining the center. In addition they are responsible for administrating the various government programs such as the Nutrition, (Senior Lunch Program), Project CARE, Meals on Wheels, ETC. The city budget does not have provisions for social activities, transportation, special needs or educational equipment.

 

 

Q - What type of activities does the foundation support?

A - Monthly senior birthday celebrations, senior dances, various holiday decorations, a transportation van to pick up seniors for lunch, entertainment equipment, eight new Dell computers for the senior learning center, book shelves for the library and so on. Since the Senior Center opened in February, 2001 the foundations has contributed over $76,270.00 to fund activities.

Q - Will my contribution be tax deductible?

A - The Encinitas Senior Foundation is a 501.3.C Non-Profit Corporation so your contribution is gratefully accepted and tax deductible.

 

 

Q - What percent of your funds are used to support your stated mission?

A - The Board of Directors are volunteers and receive no income for their service. The only costs to the fund are postage, printing and other supplies.
This means that about 98% is passed on through our activities.

 

 

Q - Can I help even if I don’t make a major contribution?

A - The foundation is always looking for individuals willing to dedicate their time or any contribution for this worthwhile endeavor.
