About the Directors

Al Tschaeche
Al Tschaeche has participated as Board Member and/or officer of ESF for
8 years and of other non-profit organizations such as Big Brothers for
and additional 10 years. His business experience is in managing
various nuclear safety organizations. He volunteers for AARP, American
Nuclear Society, MIT Club of San Diego and several national standards
committees.

Tometta Hentz
Retired  in California after teaching school in Illinois. Appointed to the Encinitas Senior Commission in 2002 and served two terms.  Joined the Encinitas Senior Foundation Board in 2003.  Facilitates the  Senior Center Book Club and serves as Vice-chairman of the Senior Center's Site Council for the Nutrition Program.

Dave S. Oakley
He retired as a Hospital Architect in 1993. He practiced for 30 years in the firm he founded in the Los Angeles area. In 1997 Dave was one of the original founders of the Encinitas Senior Foundation and is currently its’ treasurer.

Carol Ashworth
I grew up in a small town in Idaho, married my high-school sweetheart, worked his way through medical school, and reared our seven children. With husband gone and children grown, I continued with graduate study at UCSD. I've enjoyed volunteer work from earlier PTA, hospital guilds, and Little League to today's Senior Center and UCSD Library Friends.

J. McClelland (Mac) Hartley
Ohio native. Education: Undergraduate studies in Cleveland, Master's degree from, SanDiego State College. Migrated to California in 1952. Worked for twenty five years in retail store design before beginning a twenty five year teaching career at San Diego City College. Senior citizen issues became the focus for teaching Life Story Writing, writing magazine articles, serving on Encinitas Senior Commission, author of Encinitas History & Heritage, instrumental in developing the Encinitas Senior Center and founder of Encinitas Senior Foundation.

Charlie Harp
Prior to retirement he managed six different manufacturing companies and was instrumental in raising awareness of vinyl window replacement in California. In 2002, volunteered as a Commissioner for Encinitas senior citizens, now serving his third term, joined the Encinitas Senior Foundation board and currently directs the annual Encinitas Follies
